Duncan Glover

Duncan Glover co-founded Patron Defence, bringing deep expertise in fast jet operations, operational test and evaluation, and advanced capability development across Australian and United States Air Force environments. His experience spans operational test, capability introduction, tactics development, operational concept design, and the translation of operational requirements into capability outcomes.

Duncan’s Air Force background includes over 2000 hours flying as a Fighter Combat Instructor, instructor pilot and operational test and evaluation pilot on the F/A‑18 Hornet and F-15E Strike Eagle. He brings expertise in leading multinational teams conducting complex large scale operational test and training activities. Duncan also has extensive air combat capability acquisition and development experience through positions in Air Force Headquarters. Duncan works across several Patron business areas and is a current F-35A Lightning simulator instructor pilot.

He has held key leadership roles within the Royal Australian Air Force including Course Director of the Air Warfare Instructor Course (Fighter Combat Instructor) and command of the F-15E division, 422 Test and Evaluation Squadron, USAF, Nellis AFB. These roles involved leading the development and delivery of advanced training and operational test programmes, integrating multiple platforms and agencies, and preparing people and systems for high-end warfighting.

Duncan holds a Bachelor of Technology (Aviation), a Master of Project Management, a Master of Defence and Military Studies and a graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors course. He is an Operational Test Pilot, Mission Commander, A‑Category Fighter Combat Instructor, a graduate of Australian Command and Staff Course and has been recognised with awards including Fighter Pilot of the Year and Division Commander of the Year.
